Terms of Service
These are the terms between you and Owtomate ("we", "us") for using owtomate.com. Signing in means you accept them. They are written to be read, not skimmed: the parts that matter most are that applications go out in your name, that job boards set their own rules about automation, and that passes are single purchases with a clear end date and no automatic renewal.
1. What Owtomate does
Owtomate is a job-application assistant for people looking for work in Australia. Using the resume, details and preferences you give it, it searches SEEK and Indeed, judges which listings fit you, writes a cover letter for each, answers screening questions from your details, and submits the application through your own account on the job board or through the employer's own site. It keeps a record of everything it sends. When it cannot answer something truthfully from what you have given it, it stops and asks you.
To get applications through, it also signs your job-board accounts back in when a board ends the session, creates accounts on employer sites that require one, enters one-time codes from the mailbox you connect, and has bot checks such as CAPTCHAs solved by a third-party service. It emails you an evening summary and an alert when something stops it working for you. Section 4 and our Privacy Policy say how each of these works and which services are involved.
2. Who can use it
You must be 18 or older, have the right to work in the roles you apply for, and sign in with a Google account that is yours. One person, one account.
3. Applications are yours
Every application Owtomate sends carries your name and goes to an employer as if you had sent it. Starting Auto apply enables scheduled runs that submit applications on your behalf. Starting Semi auto schedules preparation only; we submit those applications only after you confirm selected jobs. Pause stops the current run and future scheduled runs until you resume. You are responsible for what is in them. That means:
- What you tell us about yourself must be true. Owtomate will not invent qualifications, stretch your experience or guess your work rights, but it can only be as accurate as what you give it.
- Review what is sent. The application record shows every cover letter and answer. AI-written text can be wrong or awkward; if it is, tell us and correct your details so the next one is better.
- An application, once sent, is with the employer. We cannot withdraw it.
4. Your accounts elsewhere
By using Owtomate you authorise it to act in the following accounts on your behalf:
- Job boards. You sign in to SEEK and Indeed yourself, in a private browser on our server. We never ask for or store those passwords. When a board ends your session, Owtomate signs back in with the Google account already signed in to that browser; it never types a password. You can sign out of a board at any time in the app's Job boards panel, and it stays signed out until you sign in again.
- Employer sites. Where an employer's own site requires an account before you can apply, Owtomate creates one in your name with your email address. You can ask us for the password of any account it created.
- Your mailbox. If you separately connect Gmail, you authorise Owtomate to read verification codes and confirmation links needed for your applications and to send only the email applications you explicitly review and confirm. During the verification transition, normal users use their private browser session; administrators can choose browser or Gmail API access through MCP. Browser sign-in technically gives access to the entire mailbox, so consider a dedicated job-search inbox. The Gmail API method requests read and send permissions and keeps OAuth tokens encrypted on our server. You can disable browser mailbox automation or disconnect the API connection in Settings. Disabling automation does not sign Google out of your browser. Our Privacy Policy explains data use, retention and deletion.
- Bot checks. When a site puts a CAPTCHA or "verify you are human" check in front of an application, Owtomate may have it solved by a third-party service.
- Your address. While you hold a pass, the browser that applies for you goes out through an Australian residential internet address from a third-party provider, dedicated to your account while you hold it. It is returned when your pass ends, and can change if the provider replaces it or none is free; Owtomate then applies from its own server instead.
Those sites have their own terms, and job boards commonly restrict automated use. SEEK's terms, for example, prohibit using bots or other automated tools to access its service, and holding more than one account. You accept that a job board or employer site may limit or suspend your account for activity it considers automated, and that this is a risk you take by using Owtomate. Owtomate paces its activity and applies only to roles that match you to reduce that risk, but cannot remove it. Use your own existing job-board account; do not create extra ones for Owtomate.
5. Plans and payment
- Free. Every account gets five application credits, once. They do not renew.
- Essential Pass, A$9.90. 50 application credits and Essential features for 30 days.
- Active Search, A$19.99. 200 application credits and Active Search features for 30 days.
- Get Owtomated, A$59.99. Unlimited application credits for 30 days, with a maximum of 100 applications per day, advanced controls and supported employer-site applications. AI reviews up to 80 jobs per run.
- Application Top-up, A$6.90. 50 more application credits for an active paid pass with a credit allowance, available until that pass ends. Unlimited passes do not need top-ups.
- Free includes one scheduled run per 24 hours, Essential Pass two, and Active Search and Get Owtomated four. Runs are normally spaced 24, 12 or 6 hours apart respectively, and always at least four hours apart. Busy server slots can delay a run. Missed runs are not launched in a burst.
- Every account, including Get Owtomated and administrator accounts, can submit at most 100 applications per day. A lower cap chosen by the account and its available application credits still apply.
- On plans with application credits, Auto apply uses one credit per successful submission. Semi auto uses one credit when an application is prepared; confirming it uses no additional credit. Skipping a prepared application does not return its credit. Get Owtomated has no application credit cap during access; available matching jobs and site restrictions affect the number completed.
A pass is one payment. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again unless you buy again. Listings skipped or attempts that fail before an application is prepared or submitted do not use credits. Unused balances end when the pass ends. Existing passes originally sold without an end date remain grandfathered. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where it applies. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see your card.
6. Refunds
Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Beyond those rights, you can ask for a full refund within seven days when none of the purchased pass or Application Top-up credits has been used. Once any part of the purchased benefit has been used, we do not refund it in part.
7. Fair use
Do not use Owtomate to apply for roles you have no genuine intention of taking, to apply under someone else's name, to send abusive or misleading content to employers, or to probe or overload the service. We may pause automatic runs, suspend or delete an account that does, and we will tell you why.
8. What we do not promise
Owtomate gets applications sent. It does not promise interviews, offers or a job. It depends on SEEK, Indeed, employer sites and the services listed in our Privacy Policy (AI models, bot-check solving, email, payment and hosting), none of which we control, and it can be slowed or stopped when they change. We do our best to keep it running and to keep a record of everything it did, and we will tell you in the app when a run could not start.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising from Owtomate is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days before the event. We are not liable for loss of an opportunity, a job-board account, or income. Where the Australian Consumer Law gives you a guarantee we cannot exclude, our liability for a failure of that guarantee is limited, where the law permits, to supplying the service again or paying for it to be supplied again.
10. Ending things
You can stop at any time by signing out and asking us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We can suspend or end an account for a breach of these terms. Sections 3, 9 and 11 continue to apply afterwards.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia, and disputes go to its courts.
12. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we will show the change in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top is the date of the current version.
